The 2021 of the China Iron and Steel Association and the China Metal Association's Metallurgical Science and Technology Award have been announced recently, five companies, including Qingdao Yunlu Advanced Material Technology Co. , Ltd. and Antai Science and Technology Co. , Ltd. , and Jiangsu JICUI Antai Pioneer Advanced Energy Materials Research Institute Co. , Ltd. , won the 2021 prize for “Engineering Technology Development and application of wide and ultra-thin iron-based nanocrystalline strip”.
The “Metallurgical Science and Technology Award” is the highest science and Technology award in the steel industry officially approved by the State Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China. It is divided into four grades, namely, the grand prize, the first prize, the second prize and the third prize, it is of great significance to promote scientific and technological innovation and progress in China's metallurgical industry.
Project background

The performance requirements of ultra-thin (≤18μm) , high frequency permeability (μ100khz > 30000) and low loss (p0.5 t, 10kHz ≤3w/kg) are put forward in the fields of electronic components, information communication, new energy vehicle and consumer electronics High-power and high-frequency transformers in the fields of smart grid and rail transit require nanocrystalline materials with wide width (≥100mm) , ultra-thin (14-18μm) and low loss (p0.5 t, 10kHz ≤3w/kg) . The continuous emergence of new application fields provides a broad application prospect for the development of soft magnetic materials.
Before the project began, the strip production at home and abroad were adopted discontinuous single ladle process, single furnace molten steel only 200-300 kg, annual capacity less than 300 tons, low production efficiency. The width of nanocrystalline strip supplied in China is less than 60mm, the thickness of nanocrystalline strip is more than 20μm, the loss is high (p0.5 t, 20kHz > 30W/kg) , the consistency is poor and the cost is high.
